Individuals who self-identify as a family member or family caregiver of a care recipient who:
CarePRO-LTC is a research project designed to assist family members caring for a loved one who has been placed in a long-term care facility by providing free dementia related education and training workshops. The workshops are designed to reduce caregiver stress, enhance caregiver well-being, and help caregivers manage difficult caregiving situations.
Project staff gather feedback from individuals about their caregiving experience to continue to improve programs for dementia caregivers.
CarePRO-LTC consists of skill-focused and support meetings that occur over approximately 5 weeks through 5 weekly group sessions held via Zoom, lasting 2.5 hours each intermingled with 5 weekly individual telephone coach sessions lasting approximately 30 minutes each. The program’s small interactive groups (up to 10 people) are held over Zoom.
