About the Study:
The T-SCAN Lab at Rice University is seeking primary caregivers for family members diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease to participate in a research study on emotion regulation and coping strategies for caregivers. Participants will be compensated at a rate of $20/hr (prorated), up to $90. Participants will receive compensation at the end of the first session, and then again at the end of the study. The participant will have the choice to receive payment remotely in the form of an Amazon gift card, or to return to the lab for payment in cash.
The purpose of this research is to examine the usefulness of an emotion regulation training delivered via mobile phone. Specifically, researchers are interested to see if this method will be helpful in regulating emotions for caregivers, who frequently experience distress.
What is Involved:
A set of brief psychological questionnaires, a short emotion regulation strategy training interaction, a heart rate measurement via mobile app, and one week of daily, ecological momentary assessments delivered via text.
