There is a wait list to enroll into the study with the oldest individuals called first.
About the Study:
The Longevity Study is a non-invasive observational study which began in 2006.
There are over 600 active participants, more than half over the age of 80.
We are seeking participants, age 50 and older and especially those aged 80 years and older, as this is the least researched and fasted growing age group.
Purpose:
The Longevity Study aims to:
Identify the psychosocial, cognitive, medical, physical, spiritual and other factors contributing to healthy aging
Explore what is unique about the Optimal Aging population
Contribute to the research on optimal aging and longevity
Provide insights for improving health of our aging population
Collaborate with researchers locally and nationally to expand the scope of healthy aging and longevity research
What is Involved:
If you decide to participate, you would be asked to complete the following:
Sign consent forms
Complete an annual questionnaires and interview with a professional interviewer (approx. 1 hour) at Banner Sun Health Research Institute (visits to residences are possible under special circumstances)
Complete memory and thinking tests, blood pressure and other measurements during certain annual visits
