Finding Ease in Caregiving - Virtual

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Aged 18+
  • Provide in-home informal (unpaid) care to an individual living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease

About the Study:

Using the principles of the Alexander Technique, strategies used by dancers and artists to quickly recognize and reduce stress in their bodies, the Finding Ease In Caregiving Study aims to provide caregivers with the resources necessary to reduce stress and identifying new responses to challenging behavior.

Purpose:

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a virtual, home-based intervention for caregivers of individuals living with dementia using strategies used by dancers and artists to quickly recognize and reduce stress in their bodies.

What is Involved:

This study consists of one-hour weekly group Zoom sessions for 8 weeks to help caregivers discover new ways to care for themselves.


There are also 3 sets of online surveys (prior to the Zoom sessions, at week 4, and at the conclusion of study).


Participants are eligible to receive up to $90 for completing the study.


Participation is voluntary.
