  • Able to read and understanding English;
  • Pass cognitive screen for study;
  • Spouse or family member willing to participate in the study;
  • Available to participate for up to 16 weeks.

About the Study:

The training focuses on brain health for the person with the diagnosis and their care partner. Brain health concepts discussed include: 

  • Purpose – Continuing to invest in the world around you.
  • Acceptance – Focusing on what you CAN change.
  • Understanding – Giving each other the most generous interpretation possible.
  • Support – Play an active role keeping the people around you part of your life.
  • Energy – Finding ways to reset your brain throughout the day.

Attention will be given to the brain impact of applying each of these strategies to life as well as action items to incorporate these concepts into your daily life.

Purpose:

The purpose of the study is to examine the impact of the Brain Health in Alzheimer’s strategies on social engagement, emotional outlook, cognitive well-being and quality of life.

What is Involved:

Participants (Care Partner and person with the diagnosis) in the study will:

  1. Participate in three online assessments (months 1, 2, 4).
  2. Watch six online training videos (first two months of study).
  3. Participate in weekly meetings discussing the training videos.
  4. Seek to implement the concepts communicated in the training.
